  • 30 March 2001 – Completed a diploma in advanced mineral processing at the Potchefstroom University.
  • 1993 obtained a technical diploma and majored in mathematics and science
  • 1990 obtained the national matric certificate.

Sipho Erickson Dube |  Director | Cyclone Engineering Projects (Pty) Ltd

Skills and Experience: Member of Landfill Consult cc and Director of several environmental companies. In 1985 Sipho left South Africa to study in America for a Bachelor’s degree in business administration (majoring in Marketing and Logistics) (Honors Student) at the Stillman College in Alabama. He later in 1995 enrolled with Damelin Business College for a diploma in Project Management. Upon his return to South Africa In 1990 he worked for Black Like Me cosmetics as a Sales and Marketing executive and in 1991 he joined the family business, managing a retail complex. In 1996 he founded Peo-Technologies, a telecoms installation company. In 1997 he also co-founded Enviro-Fill, which became one of South Africa’s leading waste management companies. In 2007 Enviro-fill was bought over by Interwaste which is listed on the AltX. He left the group in 2009 to run Landfill Consult which he founded as a waste consulting company.

Skills and Experience: After completion of the bachelors’ degree in Industrial Chemistry at the Potchefstroom University for CHE at the end of 1979, Gerrit J. van Ryssen joint Armscor in their research division. After a short period he joined the mining industry. At Foskor, a large phosphate mine, Gerrit was Production Superintendent and amongst others, schooled himself in the tailings disposal practice on this 3,2 million tonnes per month facility. He was also Project Manager for a new 1000ha tailings dam and the accompanying infrastructure and did most of the civil construction in-house.

After 13 years he left Foskor and joined the outside world tailings industry for a short period where he became Operations Director before he decided to start his own business during 1998, which specialises in the cycloned tailings deposition method.

With Gerrit’s companies operating in the Mining Sector, much development work in the residue disposal methods has been done and successful cycloning is done on phosphate-, copper-, magnetite-, gold-, diamond (Kimberlite)-, chrome-, platinum-, fluorspar- and base mineral residue streams.
A major breakthrough in developing the patented (SA Patent No. 2011/03614 and 2013/06139) vacuum cycloning, which proofed to be a very successful element, creating tremendous cost savings to the mining industry.

Gerrit introduced the very successful mine/contractor JV principle where a major cost saving to the mines is achieved in the construction of new TSFs. Up to 45% cost saving
