iSimangaliso Wetland Park

Cyclone Engineering Projects has been awarded a contract by iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, to hydraulically clean and open the mouth area of the Lake St Lucia.  This project is wholly funded by the World Bank to ensure the sustainability of their World Heritage Site.

The island between the St Lucia estuary and uMfolozi River has been artificially created in the past through dredging activities in the St Lucia Estuary, and the island so created has interfered with the natural interconnection between the mouths of the uMfolozi River and St Lucia estuary.
